Burmese Blunts

May 15 2014

The cheroot, possibly the greatest name for a smokable substance perhaps second to the bidi. A permanent fixture in Myanmar. The Myanma men seem to prefer cigarettes over cheroots but search around the internet and you’ll see badass pictures of older women putting Snoop Dogg to shame with these lovely creations. The factory precision of this woman is shocking. The smoke itself is surprisingly flavourful and a little sweet. It consists of leaf and woody bits from the root of the plant. Apparently it’s used to freshen the mouth…not surprising in a country of dental disaster due to the glorious betel nut.

Alrighty folks, are you ready to be blown away by another craft project? We’ve already looked at how to make a vegetable oil candle. Now it’s time for beeswax! In mason jars! In case you didn’t know, mason jars are super hip. And you can do so many things with them! You can make mason jar¬†soap dispensers, use them as mini blender containers, make mason jar pin cushions, or make¬†mason jar candy pedestals. Who doesn’t need a super fugly candy pedestal in their life?? My personal favourite thing to do with mason jars is to store foodstuffs in them. But I digress, let’s get back to the topic of making beeswax candles in mason jars.

A Sad Day for Liberty

Nov 05 2012

A good day to show some trapped roaches. You may not have noticed but one of my videos has been Banned on TV(r). I was really excited to watch the stats of my Pigeon Beheading video grow and be popular from Syria to Canada (Syrians and Egyptians are early adopters of beheading videos – who knew?). Alas, Google did not think it followed community guidelines. I feel like going on a YouTube-wide inappropriate flag-a-thon of any video showing how to skin, gut, fillet etc. and get them removed. I suppose they don’t show twitching heads. But still, a big “lamesville” to Google and the person who flagged it. I sure hope people don’t feel the same about cockroach cruelty. Maybe since this is educational, it’ll make the cut. Enjoy.

How to make canvas wall art

Jun 03 2012

New craft snark! Today we are going to be making some canvas wall art for much cheaper than they would charge you in one of those poster art places. For example this canvas is about 13.5″x18″, and cost less than $10, but would cost about $73 to get done at my local art store.
